Announcement for immigrants

The course “Faroese as a second language” starts again in Tórshavn on Monday 5 September and the registration has started. Kvøldskúlin advises immigrants to register as soon as possible.

Tórshavnar Kvøldskúli, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Tórshavn, teaches Faroese for immigrants, who do not have Faroese as their mother tongue. The course is not intended for Scandinavians.

Students learn Faroese language and about society and culture. The course is organized in accordance with the CEFR scale. Also, the students are screened before classes commence. Teaching takes place in Tórshavnar Kvøldskúli's premises, beginning in September and in January. Teaching is for 15 weeks on all regular weekdays from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm. The times are indicative.

The course concludes with an exam, and each student receives either a certificate from a position exam, which gives access to further education in Faroese as a second language or a final diploma.

Class attendance is compulsory, and students must be active in studies to be nominated for the exam. Tuition fee of kr. 500.00 is charged for teaching materials.

Tórshavnar Kvøldskúli skipar í samstarvi við Mentamálaráðið og Tórshavnar Kommunu fyri undirvísing í føroyskum ætlað tilflytarum, sum ikki hava føroyskt sum móðurmál. Skeiðið er tó ikki ætlað norðurlendingum.

Næmingarnir læra føroyskt og um samfelag og mentan. Skeiðið er skipað eftir CEFR-stiganum, og verða næmingarnir visiteraðir, áðrenn undirvísingin byrjar. Undirvísingin fer fram í hølum hjá Tórshavnar Kvøldskúla og byrjar í september og í januar. Undirvíst verður 15 vikur gerandisdagar frá kl. 09:00 til 12:30. Tíðirnar eru vegleiðandi.

Skeiðið endar við roynd, og hvør næmingur fær annaðhvørt prógv frá stigroynd, sum gevur atgongd til framhald í útbúgving í føroyskum sum annaðmál, ella endaligt prógv frá støðuroynd.

Møtiskylda er á skeiðnum, og skal næmingurin vera lestrarvirkin fyri at verða innstillaður til próvtøku. Gjaldið á kr. 500,- er fyri undirvísingartilfar.
