Mikudagin var móttøka í Müllers Pakkhúsi í sambandi við, at altjóða felagsskapurin IFSMA - International Federation Shipmaster Association - hevur árs- og aðalfund í Føroyum.

Skipara- og Navigatørfelagið skipar fyri fundunum, sum eru á skránni stóran part av hesari vikuni. Elsa Berg, borgarstjóri, beyð vælkomin. Her er brot úr røðuni:

- It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Faroe Islands and to Tórshavn.
Here, where the sea surrounds us on every side, safety at sea and the protection of the marine environment are not just important. They are essential. They are a way of life. And it is therefore a true joy to host this conference here, among people who understand the sea.

- You come to us from across the world. Shipmasters, who know the ocean better than most of us. By being here, you bring that knowledge to our islands. And in doing so, you remind us all of something vital: the importance of international cooperation. For the sea knows no borders. And neither should our efforts to keep it safe, and to keep it alive.

- The story of the Faroes has always been a story of the sea. For centuries we have sailed. We have fished. We have built our lives on what the waters provide. The sea has given us food, work, and identity. But it has also taken much from us. Even today, the sea remains the heart of our economy, and the heart of our culture. That is why cooperation across nations and across seas is so important.

- These upcoming days you will discuss everything from electric cars on ferries, maritime training systems, hybrid threats, geopolitical problems and a lot more. All very interesting subjects that I really think are important to discuss right here in Tórshavn in these days.

- I want to end with wishing you a conference filled with learning, dialogue, and inspiration. But I also hope you enjoy your time here in our islands and in Tórshavn Municipality. Our beautiful town has a lot to offer in both nature, culture and a lot of great places to visit. Hope to see you again in the Faroe Islands in the future as well.

Welcome, once again. And thank you.
